Readers can talk under every piece and story. Disagree, question, add what you know — about the work. These rules are not negotiable.
Never, in any form, including jokes, codes, symbols, or quoting to endorse:
- Hate speech: racism, antisemitism, Islamophobia, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, ableism, or prejudice against anyone for who they are.
- Nazism, fascism, white supremacy or any extremist ideology — their slogans, symbols and codes ("1488", "heil"…) — and denying or praising genocide.
- Threats, calls to violence, glorifying terrorism or mass killings, or encouraging self-harm.
- Anything sexual involving children, the sexual abuse or exploitation of anyone, or sexual violence of any kind.
- Anything illegal where you are, in Brazil, or internationally: selling drugs or weapons, fraud, piracy, doxxing (publishing someone's private data), and the like.
- Harassment or personal attacks on other readers or on the people in the news.
- Spam, advertising and links (links aren't accepted at all).
What happensBlocked, removed, banned; crimes reported.
- Plain violations are blocked before anyone sees them. Keep trying and you're banned.
- Any reader can report a comment and say why. The gravest reports (children, violence, anything illegal) hide the comment at once; others hide it after a few reports. The paper reviews every hidden comment.
- Breaking these rules gets the comment removed and its author banned — permanently, with no warning needed. There are no accounts here, so the ban holds on to this browser's key and a hash of the network address it posted from.
- Content that may be a crime, above all against children, is reported to the authorities.
What is kept to enforce thisHashes, never your address.
Your nickname and what you wrote; a hash of a random key your browser keeps for this; a hash of your network address (never the address itself); when you posted. Deleting your comment deletes it. Bans keep only the hashes.
You can edit or delete what you wrote from the same browser, any time.
